  1. I’ve just come back from Dubai where I spent three outstanding days with my wife. On Feb., 13th we celebrated our first wedding anniversary: the location in Bur Dubai was the best choice we could do, but in case you are looking for quiet surroundings then I’d suggest a desert resort or something on one of the Palms.
To be honest, we’d never been in the UAE before and I was quite uncertain whether to go or not and also a little bit prejudiced about the quality standards. Well, they are objectively high. Alongside I’ve found a remarkable level of politeness among the hotel staff which makes you feel comfortably assisted.
I’ll definitely go back in Dubai.

    • Sounds good! I’m getting married in late Autumn and was thinking about the opportunity of booking a round trip to the Arab Emirates. First of all to Dubai and Abu Dhabi but not only as we’ve heard about the smaller emirates as ideal locations for honeymooners.
Have you also been in one of them?

      • How long are you going to stay in the UAE? Let’s suppose at least 10 days: well, I’d suggest to spend 3 days in Abu Dhabi, 3 in Dubai and 4 in one of the smaller Emirates.
Shortly: Abu Dhabi deserves a visit as there are numberless places of interest and beauty to discover. For honeymooners I’d like to suggest a visit to the impressive Liwa oasis and for lots of amusement the Ferrari World.
As for Dubai you can take a glance also at our post Must-see places in Dubai or some of the articles dedicated to Dubai in the section Emirates on mymedina.com.
To discover the magic atmosphere of one of the smaller Emirates, I’d suggest a stay in romantic Fujairah, the one overlooking the Indian Ocean: definitely ideal for honeymooners!

  2. My girlfriend and I are going to enjoy a 10-day cruise in the Arab Gulf around Valentine’s week.
We are so much excited about it so I’d like to amaze her with an additional surprise, i.e. a special tour in Dubai as we are spending 2 days in its port.
How about a tour in the desert? It could be particularly charming for us to discover the cultural roots of the Emirates and visit a Beduin camp too.
On your website there are some tours on offer: is it possible to book them in advance, so that we are promptly picked-up from our ship in Dubai’s port?

    • That’s an absolutely romantic idea!
Naturally, tours on mymedina.com can be booked in advance. All you have to do is to contact us either per email at sales@mymedina.com or per SMS to 0039 081 3332981229 and add the tour you’d like to book. We’ll contact you asap and submit you our best quote with useful information. We’ll be happy to guarantee our support in every moment as well as additional information you should need.
We’ve just uploaded some intriguing tours purposely conceived for couples: take a look f.i. at Royal Dune Dinner… Its magic atmosphere and the unique surroundings of its location make it definbitely a must!
      Best Valentine’s wishes!

    Buon San Valentino a tutti

  5. That could be an intriguing way to spend a few days in romantic and comfortable surroundings…
To be honest, I’m tempted to request some quotes but there is just one reason why I’m still uncertain: is it true that hotels in the UAE require a marriage certificate upon check-in and do not allow you to have a double room in case you haven’t got that kind of certificate? My boyfriend and I would no way be willing to undergo such regulations!

    • What an interesting question! You are giving us the opportunity to explain a significant point about the hospitality rules in the UAE.

There are a few hotels where you must show your marriage certificate to get a double room with an individual of the other gender. These properties expressly indicate this condition on all their publications so that there will be no surprise upon check-in.

On the other hand, most hotels in the Arab Emirates – let’s say over 90% of the total number – do not require a marriage certificate nor you have to explain anything about your relationship with the fellow you are travelling with.

So, our advice is: please check the terms and conditions of the hotel you are booking (to this purpose, there is a very good selection on mymedina.com, most of them also featuring special offers) and once you have been able to exclude this problem then you can book and enjoy your stay in the Arab Emirates!

      Happy Valentine’s Day!
